Software Engineer (Communications + AI)
Messaging, voice, and AI-assisted routing/automation.
Type: Full-time
Location: Remote / Africa-friendly timezones
What you’ll do
- Build messaging and voice capabilities (SMS/WhatsApp/email, IVR, call flows) with strong delivery observability.
- Design carrier-aware routing, retries, and fallback strategies with clear failure taxonomy.
- Ship AI features that help operators and customers (classification, summarization, routing decisions, assistants).
- Own production quality: monitoring, incident response, performance, and cost.
- Collaborate with product to turn compliance and telecom constraints into reliable primitives.
What we’re looking for
- Strong software engineering fundamentals (TypeScript/Node or Python preferred).
- Experience with messaging/telephony concepts (webhooks, delivery receipts, SIP/IVR) is a plus.
- Practical AI/LLM experience (prompting, evaluation, guardrails, and safe fallbacks) is a plus.
- Comfortable with distributed systems: queues, idempotency, retries, backpressure.
- Clear communication and ability to operate in ambiguous problem spaces.
Nice to have
Kafka/RabbitMQ, Postgres at scale, Redis, OpenTelemetry, telecom integrations, security/compliance in regulated industries.
Backend Engineer (with DevOps)
APIs, data, reliability, and deployment automation.
Type: Full-time
Location: Remote / Africa-friendly timezones
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain backend services for accounts, projects, billing, and product APIs.
- Design secure multi-tenant systems (RBAC, audit logs, rate limits, environment separation).
- Own CI/CD and infrastructure automation (build pipelines, deployments, rollbacks, secrets).
- Improve reliability: SLOs, dashboards, alerts, and playbooks.
- Work closely with security to enforce least privilege and safe defaults.
What we’re looking for
- Strong backend development experience (Node/TypeScript preferred; Python okay).
- Hands-on DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes or managed container platforms, and IaC (Terraform preferred).
- Experience with cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure), observability, and incident response.
- Practical data skills: SQL, schema design, migrations, and performance troubleshooting.
- Can build safely: auth, input validation, secrets management, and secure defaults.
Nice to have
Postgres HA/replication, Redis clusters, message queues, OpenTelemetry, Vercel/Next deployments, SOC2-ish practices.
