Official libraries
Recommended for production systems. If you must use raw HTTP, follow the same reliability practices (timeouts, retries, idempotency, and structured error handling).
Authentication
All SDKs require an API key. Create separate keys per environment (sandbox vs production) and rotate them regularly.
Generate keys in the Console. Initialize the client once and reuse it across your application.
Reliability & error handling (recommended)
SDKs throw exceptions for non-2xx responses. Wrap calls in try/catch (or equivalent) and log structured error metadata.
Use idempotency keys
Prevent duplicate sends during retries and timeout scenarios.
Least-privilege keys
Scope keys per project/team and avoid sharing across environments.
Secure secrets
Store keys in a secret manager; never commit keys to source control.
Set timeouts + retries
Apply exponential backoff and sensible timeouts for network resilience.
